Baseball’s Sad Lexicon
These are the saddest of possible words:
“Tinker to Evers to Chance.”
Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds,
Tinker and Evers and Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,
Making a Giant hit into a double –
Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:
“Tinker to Evers to Chance.”
Under the Lights
Went to the Cubs game yesterday. It rained hard for most of the game, so we left in the 8th trailing 4-3 to the Padres. We lost anyway.

Makes Me Wanna Say FUCK

(Photo courtesy of AP Photo/Jon Swart) No photos from me today, but I felt like talking sports after watching the Cubbies lose to the Brewers. Today is the 25th anniversary of Lee Elia’s on air tirade. I find it really funny, so I embedded it below for the enjoyment of your virgin ears [definitely NSFW].
Hello again, everybody. It’s a bee-yooo-tiful day for baseball.

A few days ago was the 10th anniversary of Harry Caray’s death. Hopefully he’ll give the Cubs some luck to break that other anniversary the Cubs are approaching this year. *cough*
Spring Training is here, and hope springs eternal.
