QOTD: What is your perfect summer?
Six Degrees of Separation
So after having a conversation with my friend Dave about how he got shafted from signing up for classes, I found out:
I am good friends with Dave,
who is a DePaul classmate of Elaine,
my “cousin” & childhood friend,
whose mom is friends with my mom.
Which reminds me how:
I lived at Bromley Hall for one year of college,
and one of my neighbors was a friend of my cousin.
That same cousin is in a sorority at ISU, and a friend of mine
from high school is in the same one at Depaul. They met at a party in Chicago.
Looking through one of my friend’s facebook pictures,
I spot someone I know in the background of a picture.
Small world phenomenon is so…. weird.

Who Am I?
I recently read an article in the IEEE Spectrum about how the internet has become a portal for us to reveal our identities, and how our internet profiles sometimes misconstrue who we really are. To quote the article: ”In all this confusion and obfuscation about identity, the question arises: On the Internet, who are you? As one of my friends recently commented, you leave an electronic slime trail behind you as you creep through cyberspace. Who does Google think you are? How about Flickr, YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, and so forth? Whether you like it or not, you are creating a résumé on the Net—one that will stay with you for a long time.”
For me at least, I would like people to know who I think I am. I know a lot of young people like doing those stupid surveys with questions like “What side of the heart do you draw first?” or “Can you dive without plugging your nose?” or “What color is your razor?” and most importantly “Describe your perfect summer,” but I hate those things and think they are usually stupid, superficial, and self defeating. Me, I wrote a list about myself tonight. It’s sorta a poem. But I don’t want to call it that. I felt like just writing a list, but making it more structured and English-y. I don’t know where the idea came from, it somehow was formulated from my laying down on my futon and trying to sleep. Maybe I want to better know who I am as a person and how I fit into the grand scheme of things. Maybe I was just bored. Anyhow, here it is. It’s not done yet (I think), but check it out if interested:
